Forthcoming Book

Mujeres de Maiz, the Los Angeles based multi media women’s artivist collective, celebrates their 20th anniversary in 2017. A retrospective museum exhibit and published anthology in honor of this milestone are being organized. The anthology currently consists of artistic works, academic essays and critiques, as well as Mujeres de Maiz artist/activist memoirs and visual materials that chronicle 20 years of art and activist work.

Currently an invitation for submissions from Mujeres de Maiz members and participants is out. We are also in the process of reviewing and editing past essays about Mujeres de Maiz or by the collective’s members including three MFA thesis' as well as a dissertation by Dr. Amber Rose Gonzalez.
